Mr Duncan Deane headed up the production side of the company for several years before taking on his dream of owning the company. In 1987 Mr Deane acquired the company and has always been a hands’ on Managing Director. Building Bass Beams into a strong and trusted brand in the KwaZulu-Natal construction industry.
With Duncan’s years of technical expertise and the growing stature of the brand, Bass Beams outgrew its original premises in Queensburgh became too small. In 2004 a large modern plant was thus erected in the fast-growing industrial area of Cato Ridge to accommodate the rapid growth.
Mr Deane has always encouraged and sponsored educational and technical advancement courses for our employees and seeks to promote from within the company.
In 2016 after many years of being the face of the company, Mr Deane decided to become a silent Director. Appointing a team of key Managers that have the same passion he has for Bass Beams. Mr Deane is still extremely involved in the background of the technical & mechanical side of the company, advising and encouraging specific key Managers to start taking the reins.
